Dr. Rajesh Kesavan is a reputed Podiatric Surgeon and a Diabetic Foot Specialist in Chennai specialised in the management of disorders of the feet and Chronic wounds. He was trained under Prof. Arun Bal at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, and the second person to have completed the Fellowship in Podiatric Surgery. He had been part of the recent wound care training programs for Doctors and nurses in Myanmar under his Prof. Arun Bal guidance. He was trained in various centers in the USA in Diabetic foot management, under Prof. David Armstrong at the University Of Arizona at Tucson, and underwent a program at the University of Texas at San Antonio under Prof. Thomas Zgonis
He underwent training in Charcot foot disorders under Prof. Lee Rogers and Dr. Nicholas Bevilaqua at the Amputation Prevention Center in Broadlawn Medical Centre at Des Moines, Iowa, US. He spent time learning a different aspect of wound care and Diabetic foot management at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital under Harvard Medical School at Boston USA. He trained at Georgetown University in Washington, USA with Prof. Christopher Attinger, Prof.Steinberg, and Prof. Paul Kim. He trained in ankle arthroscopy at Arthrex labs in Munich, Germany, and done the Amsterdam ankle arthroscopy course.
He is expert in wound care treatment and well known as podiatric Consultant in chennai through experience in managing foot deformities primarily Charcot arthropathy of the foot and ankle. As a highly talented Podiatric Surgeon in Chennai, he has won lot of awards and published several papers, and has taken part in many medical conferences. He is the Secretary of the “Diabetic Foot Society of India” and currently working as a Podiatric Surgeon Consultant at Hycare for wounds
He is a regular faculty at the International External Fixation Symposium, conducted by the University of Texas at San Antonio, and faculty at Global Wound Conference held in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia. He was part of the Rheine Charcot foot Course conducted by Dr. Armin Koeller. He is also a regular faculty at the Gulf Diabetic foot course. He is one of the few trained Hyperbaric Physicians in India, have undergone training at Hartford, Connecticut, USA, and had instrumental in using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy successfully in managing complicated Diabetic skin and soft tissue infections. He is a Certified Wound Specialist Physician issued by the American Board of Wound Management. He is presently Secretary of the Diabetic Foot Society of India.

Is to treat every person with Diabetes and wounds to lead as normal a life as possible. And to assess the wounds in the best possible way and manage these difficult conditions thereby trying to avoid amputation. We also aim to educate our patients and their caretakers in taking daily care of their conditions and also inculcate the importance of using appropriate footwear and following good footcare practices thereby preventing recurrences of their foot problems.
